The Rules of Dodgeball
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, we adhere to the following rules and guidelines during our dodgeball games.
1. Objective
The primary objective of dodgeball is to eliminate opponents by hitting them with thrown balls while avoiding being hit yourself. The game continues until one team is entirely eliminated, or a specified time limit is reached.

2. Teams
Teams are typically divided evenly into two sides usually teams of 6.
Players must stay within their designated side of the court during play.
3. Starting the Game
Games begin with an even number of dodgeballs placed in the center of the court.
Players line up along the baseline, and the game starts with a signal (e.g., a whistle or countdown).
4. Gameplay
Players must retrieve balls from the centerline before attacking the opposing team.
Once a player is hit by a thrown ball, they are considered "out" and must leave the playing area.
If a thrown ball is caught by a player on the opposing team, the thrower is out, and a teammate may re-enter the game.
Players can block throws using a ball but must ensure the ball is not dropped when blocking
5. Headshots
Headshots are not allowed however if a player is hit in the head, they are still considered "out."
6. Boundary and Court Violations
Players must stay within the boundaries of the court during play.
Stepping over the centerline or out of bounds results in elimination.
7. Game Variations
Maidstone Falcons may introduce variations or additional rules for specific events. Be sure to check the rules for each game.
8. Fair Play and Sportsmanship
Respect fellow players, referees, and spectators.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, including intentional headshots or aggressive behavior, is not tolerated.

9. Referee Decisions
Referee decisions are final. Respect and follow their instructions during gameplay.
Remember, the primary goal is to have fun and enjoy the camaraderie of the game. If you have any questions or concerns about the rules, feel free to reach out to our team.
